In the September/October issue of Sport Fishing, my electronics column focused on side-viewing sonar. I reported that I’m giving both Humminbird and Navico side-scan units a trial run in my home waters of Georgia, aboard my 2200 Pathfinder TE. Here we commonly fish marsh areas for redfish and trout; we fish the beaches for bull reds and we target tripletail around structure. As I am able to use each unit, I will add to the photo gallery at the top of this page. My first trial involves Humminbird’s 998c SI Combo; my second will look at the Lowrance StructureScan HD unit.
